Donald LaFave Anderson, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 30, 2009 from natural causes.
He was born August 23, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lillian LaFave and Clarence Anderson. They divorced when he was only two. His step-father, John "Jack" Boren raised him like he was his own son.
Don married Betty Lou Fielding on April 1, 1952. They lived the majority of their lives in Huntsville, Utah.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Don was a member of Plumbers & Steam Fitters Local #140 for 50 Years. He was nominated Commander of the American Legion when Huntsville formed their first chapter and served for several years as Huntsville Chief of Police as well as Deputy of the Weber County Sheriff''s Dept.
He was an outdoorsman and hunting and fishing were his passion.
Don is survived by his wife, Betty; their children, Wendy (Brett) Wangsgard, Huntsville, UT; Connie (Jeff) Wintle, Skull Valley, UT; Donita (John) Boulter, Salem, UT; Vaughn (Wendy) Anderson, Huntsville, UT; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Garn and sister, Darlene Parker.
Our family would like to thank the excellent caregivers at Hearts for Hospice, especially Elaine and Kadie, and Manor Care for their attentive and loving care. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, February 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded at 3 p.m.
Interment, Huntsville City Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Utah Food Bank.
