Our husband, father, and grandfather, was taken home to the loving arms of his Savior on Sunday, September 25, 2011. His final hour was spent doing one of the things he loved most, as he took his last bike ride on a beautiful, clear morning. He was born June 1, 1941, in Salt Lake City, to Louis and Hazel Blood. He spent almost his entire life living in Kaysville. He was married to Shirley Little, later divorced. He subsequently married Donna Hamblin. They and their family were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Dad enjoyed playing sports at Davis High School in his youth, and remained an avid sports fan throughout his life. He loved attending his grandchildren''s sporting events. He had amazing stamina as a bicyclist, and at age 70, could easily outride his sons. He was a great reader and especially liked LDS church history and biography. He was a life-long member of the LDS Church, and a great example of hard work and diligence in providing for his family. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for approximately 30 years. He loved his family and was known by all as a kind and friendly man. In honor of his designated wish, Dad''s final act of service was as an organ donor.

He is survived by his wife; children: Todd (Kathleen), Alora (Paul) Weaver, Kim (Lynn) Jenkins, Troy (Stormy), Kevin (Shannon), Jenny (Chad) Allman, Allison (Gary) Flood, and Amber (Bryson) Call, 31 grandchildren; his mother, two brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville 4th Ward, 200 N. 800 E. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
