Donald Francis Brown

With family and friends by his side, Donald Francis Brown, 86, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014.

Dad was born June 25, 1928 in Clearfield, Utah, the son of James and Katie Brown. Dad lived most of his life in Utah.

He served in the U.S. Army from September 1946 to September 1949.

On August 2, 1952, Dad married Verna Rea Burkhart. They were companions for 62 years.

Dad was an exceptional Automotive Mechanic and operated his own service station for ten years.

He served as a volunteer Fireman for the Clearfield Fire Department, Dad retired from Hill Air Force Base where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Supervisor.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping but most of all Dad enjoyed working around his yard caring for his horses and garden.

Dad is survived by his wife, Verna Rea Brown, his son, Donald Lee (Jean) Brown, three daughters, Sandra (Steve) Johnson, Deborah (Jeff) Hadley, Mindy (Mike) Smith, nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, December 12th at 11 a.m. at Clearfield City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
