Donald Ezell Halfacre

August 5, 1931 ~ December 28, 2015

Donald Ezell Halfacre, 84, returned to his Father in Heaven on Monday, December 28, 2015.  He was born on August 5, 1931 in Livingston, Tennessee to Hank B. Halfacre and Eula May Gilpatrick.

Don followed his older brother Ray to Utah for work where he met his loving wife Kathryn May Bowman Dalton.  The two were married in Elko, NV on December 29, 1956, and he lovingly embraced fatherhood to her two children Brian Jacob Dalton (Carol) and Andrea Dalton (Paul Stetler) whose father was deceased.  Later the family was blessed with two more daughters, April Dawn (Alan Scholtec) and Ginger May (Daley).

Don served in the US Navy from January 1951 to January 1953 stationed on the USS Deliver.  He then got a job at Hill AFB where he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic and Supervisor in Flight Test until retirement.  He also worked with the Weber County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue for several years.  He loved waterskiing, fishing, camping, and motorcycling with his family.  After retirement Don and Kathy loved to “snowbird”.

Don is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  He is also survived by a sister, Judy Ernst; and sister-in-law, Pat Halfacre.

The family would like to offer their thanks to the staff of the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home and also the staff at the South Ogden Post Acute for their wonderful care of Don during his time there.

Cremation services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
