Donald Neil Hansen, born September 6, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Neil Axel and Lucille Anderson Hansen, passed away on June 20, 2013, age 83, at Aspen House in Loveland, CO of complications from a long struggle with Alzheimer''s disease.
He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, and later earned his Bachelor''s degree in accounting from Stevensa"Henager College, also in Salt Lake City. Don served in the US Army during the Korean War. Then he worked in procurement at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years, retiring in April of 1993.
He married Wilhelmina "Wilma" M. Hogendyk in 1955 in Salt Lake City, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Don was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Toast Masters, and the B.P.O.E Elks Lodge in Ogden, Utah.
He was an avid reader and loved doing calligraphy. He enjoyed people and spending time with his family.
Don and Wilma moved to Loveland, CO in 2011 to be near their daughter.
Donald is survived by his wife, Wilma Hansen; daughter, Donita Fogle (John); brother, Gordon Hansen; sister, Marge Garvey (Roy); grandchildren, Bryant Casteel (Kelly), Troy Casteel, Sheena Marin (Oscar), Justin Casteel (Brittany) and Nathan Casteel, Stacia Fogle, and Austin Fogle; and great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Marin and Kylie Casteel; nephew, Henny Bakker (Marcy) and family; and niece, Kimberly Royce (Scott) and family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Hansen; and sister, Lucille Hansen, and great-grandchildren, Isaac and Angel Casteel. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
