Donald Kortright

Donald Henry Kortright passed away July 2, 2014.  He was born July 18, 1934 in Middletown, New York, the son of Henry Payne Kortright and Elva Alberta Peck Kortright.  He married Merle Velene Allen on March 16, 1956 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on March 1, 1974.

Don was a faithful member of the LDS Church and held various callings throughout his lifetime.  He worked as a civilian police officer at Hill Air Force Base for many years, and also drove a truck for many years.  After retirement, he devoted his life to his family.  Don enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and baseball (especially the Colorado Rockies).  He was very supportive in watching his children and grandchildren play sports and other various activities.

Surviving are his wife Merle and children, Judy (Rick) Webster, Kathy (Mike) Burgess, Ken (Kay) Kortright, Jim (Vicki) Kortright, and Mark (Cody Lynn) Kortright, as well as 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law Dick Ballard.

Don is preceded in death by sisters Margie (Owen) Hawkins, Helen (Tom) O’Leary, Gert (Joe) Coleman, Dot (Martin) Karig, and Audrey Ballard.
