Donald James Lesser

Today we lost a hero, Donald James Lesser, 77, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 after recovering from West Nile Virus for 2 A½ years.

He was born January 24, 1933 in Denver, Colorado to Daniel James and Mabel O''Leary Lesser.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

On February 19, 1955, Don married Jean S. O''Neill in Layton, Utah.

He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 38 years of work as an electrical engineer.

Don loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching jets and planes, animals, bartending, latch hook, and baking with his grandchildren.

He left an everlasting impression on everyone and always had a smile on his face.

Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean; two daughters, Marin (Ed) Helmer, Roy; Becky (Tim) Hansen, West Haven; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Delbert.

We want to give special thanks to the wonderful nurses, aides and respiratory team at Heritage Park and special thanks to Dr. Salem and the staff at Davis Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded.
