Donald Marshall Schneider

Donald M. Schneider passed away July 25, 2015 at his home in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 77.  He was devoted to his family and always put their well-being before his own.

Don was born on July 23, 1938 in Jasper, Indiana to Curtis Urban Schneider and Helen Marshall Schneider.  His family moved to Mound City, Kansas where Don enjoyed playing basketball and track in school.  In 1952 his family moved to Evanston, Wyoming where Don attended Evanston High School.  He joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and served for four years.  After returning to Evanston, he began his career with Western Electric and he met his future wife Carol Davis, they were married on January 20, 1973.  The couple had two children (Erik and Marie) and moved to Utah in 1974.

After retiring in 1992, Don spent many days playing his favorite sport, golf.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and always looked forward to his daily phone calls to his sister, Shannon.  He also enjoyed working on cars and loved to watch sports.  Religion was very important to Don.  He joined and attended services at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Bountiful.

Don was preceded in death by his mother and father, nephew (Richard Davis), brother (Curtis Allen Schneider), niece’s husband (Bobby Powell) and great nephew (Daniel Powell).  Don is survived by his son Erik Schneider, daughter Marie Schneider, Carol Schneider, sister Shannon Baker, niece Denise Powell, great nephew Brian Powell, sister in-law Elizabeth Schneider, nephew Christopher (Desiree) and family.  He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Evanston, Wyoming, under direction of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
