Donald C Stitt, 86, passed away on September 4, 2018. He was born in his home on January 30, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to William Hill and Catherine Gladys Cook Stitt.

He married Lavonda May Owen on December 9, 1952 and later sealed in the Logan Temple.

Don enjoyed being of service to others and was an excellent provider for his family.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as financial clerk for 19 years and Counselor in the High Priest Group. He served a two year mission in the Name Extraction Program at the Ogden Family History Center.

Don graduated from Ogden High School and earned 141 credits at Weber State when it was four buildings. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He worked at Ogden Union Railway and Depot Company (OUR and DCO), Hill Air Force Base and finally at US Forest Service where he received a 40 year service pin.

Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had the “privilege” of teaching four daughters how to drive.

Don is survived by his four children, Nedene (Lee) Jensen, Sheri (Glenn) Eurick, Tami (Gil) Diaz, and Shanna Stitt; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Myrlene “Linky” Hubble and Kevin Stitt. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years; his parents; his sisters, Sharon and Gladys; and brothers, Paul and his best friend/brother, Bill.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
