Donald D. Tapp, age 86, passed away December 6, 2023, in Ogden, Utah surrounded by his loving family members. He was born to Paulene and James Tapp on November 6, 1937 in Kentucky.
He was married to Virginia Tapp on December 22, 1967 in Ogden, Utah. Together they had six children.
He served a short stint with the Navy. He worked many years as a civilian at Hill Air Force Base.
Some of the many hobbies that he enjoyed were Nascar races, participating in cars show’s with the antique cars they own, traveling the country, he liked to fish wherever the fish were biting, he loved taking rides on his motorcycle, and getting his free coffee with his friends at the local McDonald’s, and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Don was always very social, he greeted everyone he met with a smile and a conversation.
He is survived by his wife Virgina Tapp, daughter Selena Ann Bell (Normand), Son’s Richard Tapp, Tracy Tapp (Yuvonka), and Jason Tapp, grandchildren Emily, Ashton, Jeff, Nathan, and several great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Pauline Tapp, brothers Bill and Paul, sons Mark and Jeremy.
The family would like to thank the staff at McKay Dee Hospital for all of their care and hard work.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
