Donald George Thorsted

1938 ~ 2015

Donald George Thorsted, 76, passed away on September 5, 2015.  He was born on November 1, 1938 in St. Anthony, Idaho to George Richard and Melba Thompson Thorsted.  Don graduated from Ben Lomond High School and he married Joan in her hometown of Elko, Nevada.

He worked for the Ogden City Water Department until he retired.

Don loved his family, horses, all animals in general, everything outdoors, and most of all his Border Collie, Sunshine, who he called his “girlfriend”.

Don is survived by his children, June Thorsted, Dona (Kenny) Lyons, and Charles Thorsted; brother, Larry (Rose) Thorsted; grandchildren, Justin (Shawna) Morgan, Kodie (Whitney) Fasig, Kade Fasig, Morgan Thorsted, and Katee (Rick) Cotner; and eight great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; daughter, Sherrie Wright, parents, and two sisters.

The family would like to say special thanks to Joann Cole and Bert Lammert for being such wonderful friends to Don.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Uintah Cemetery, 1500 East Cemetery Rd.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
