Donald M. VanCamp
Our father Donald M. VanCamp passed away November 26, 2011. He was born to Richard J. and Myrthie M. Jenkins VanCamp in Titonka, Iowa on February 11, 1924. He enlisted in the military March 24, 1943 and served our country in the 253rd Infantry Regiment as a light machine gunner 604. He was wounded in Germany March 3, 1945. He was decorated with 1 Bronze, Service Star, Purple Heart and a combat Infantry Badge.
Donald married Della Taylor in 1944 and she passed away in 1971. He then married Faye Petersen in 1972. She passed away in 1989.
Dad enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, trap and skeet shooting and gardening.
Donald is survived by his brother Forest VanCamp, four daughters and one son, Mary J. (Michael) Grimes; Patricia A. Endow; Beverly J. Engles; Darlene F. (Michael) Moriarty; and Donald R. (Cherie) VanCamp, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous stepchildren.
Dad was preceded in death by our mother Della Taylor VanCamp, and our stepmother Faye R. VanCamp.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Tremonton Cemetery, 150 East 1200 South. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
