Donald James Williams
Don Williams, 80, passed away on May 7, 2012 due to causes incident to age. He was born on January 28, 1932 to James George Williams and Phyllis Caine Williams in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don attended West High School and graduated with the class of 1949. He joined the army in 1951, where he served as a clerk typist during the Korean War. He married Virginia Fox in the Salt Lake Temple on January 5, 1953. Don attended the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelors degree in 1955. He worked briefly as a schoolteacher in Ogden before returning to the University to achieve his Masters degree. In 1959, Don began a 37-year career at Thiokol working as a mass properties engineer. He also worked part-time for the N.A.C. His wife, Virginia passed away in September 1996. He married Elmae Rowberry in 1998. He was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. He served as a missionary with his wife Elmae, teaching institute classes to students at Ball State University in Muncie Indiana. He also worked in the Bountiful LDS Temple until his death. Don is survived by his wife Elmae, two daughters Carol Owens and Celeste Newland and five sons Robert, Keith, Russell, Brent, and Rick. Don is also survived by 8 step-children, 58 grandchildren, and 43 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Farmington Memorial Chapel, 272 N. Main. Friends and family may visit Friday, May 11th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Sat. 9:45-10:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
