CLEARFIELD a€" Donna May Hamblin Baxter, 76, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born May 15, 1934 in Clearfield, Utah the daughter of Ralph Henry and Thelma LaVere Jones Hamblin.

She attended schools in Davis County and graduated from Davis High School.

Donna married Glen Junior Baxter on March 12, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She worked at Hill AFB; and then 30 years for Davis School District at So. Clearfield Elementary and Clearfield High School.

Donna was a member of the LDS Church and served in many Stake and Ward callings. She helped with the Neighborhood Watch Program and served on Wasatch Elementary Community Council.

She loved family vacations, shopping, yard work and having family pictures taken. Donna''s greatest joy came from being with family and friends. She supported all family sports and school and church activities. For any home project, she was our "Project Manager" making sure all tasks were complete. "Because I have been given much I too must give" is the first line of her favorite hymn, and that is how she lived. She was always giving to others.

Surviving are her husband Glen, two sons, Steven (Alicia), Layton; Kent (Cherie), Clearfield; eight grandchildren: Katie, Todd (Kathleen), Tate (serving an LDS mission in Minnesota), Holly, Brad, Ryan (Reanna), Amy (Kevin) Odenwalder, Brent (serving an LDS mission in Washington), two sisters, Darlene Nixon Browning, Thousand Oaks, CA; Carol (Dan) Gibson, Riverdale; brother-in-law, Andrew (Shirley) Baxter, Layton; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Lee Nixon, and niece Jan Nixon Schunk.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.

We express our gratitude to all medical personnel who helped at the accident and all those who have helped dad during his hospital stay. Thanks to all of you for the love and support you have shown our family during this difficult time.
