Donna Burnett, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away surrounded by loved ones Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Sunridge Assisted Living Center. She was born August 5, 1931, in Clinton, Utah, a daughter of Horace William Burnett and Lola Areta Saunders.
She married Donald H Cummins and had four children: Rodney C. Cummins (Dianne), Sandra McCray (Tim), Brent D (Lucy) Cummins, and Jeffery C. (Michelle) Cummins.
Donna was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed attending the branch at Sunridge Assisted Living. She loved going to the temple.
She worked for Bon Marche, Hill Air Force Base, and as an aid to several Special Needs Homes in Layton.
She loved to work in her garden, enjoyed canning, cooking for family and family gatherings to celebrate special occasions.
She is survived by her brother, George L. Thompson, 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Melissa Cummins, grandson, Derek Brent Cummins; her father, Horace William Burnett; her mother, Lola Areta Saunders Jones; and brothers, Rulon David Burnett, William Lamont Burnett, and Marlan Horace Burnett.
A viewing for family and friends will be held will Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary located on 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton Utah 84041. A celebration of life and interment will be at 11:00 am in the Clinton City Cemetery, 813 North 750 West Clinton, Utah 84015.
