Donna Newman Davidson 1916 ~ 2007.
BOUNTIFUL - At age 91 Donna Davidson, surrounded by her family, passed away quietly on October 21, 2007 in Bountiful, Utah.
She was born July 31, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the first child of Henry James Newman and Phyllis Roseanna Baggaley. Donna grew up in Salt Lake City where she graduated from West High School in 1935. She attended LDS business College and later attended Utah State University. She faithfully served a full time mission for the LDS church in the Eastern Canadian Mission.
Donna married Sherman Arthur Davidson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 17, 1948. They made their home in Ogden, Utah where they spent the rest of their lives and reared a family of five children. Donna was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in numerous callings, working primarily in the Relief Society and Primary. She worked as a secretary at TH Bell Jr. High School for a number of years. After her husband died she worked for the Department of Aging at Weber Human Services until three years ago.
Donna played the piano well into her 80s. Her children still remember going to sleep to the sound of her music. Donna loved to paint, and in her later years she became an accomplished amateur artist. Her family will remember her from the many paintings she left to be enjoyed by future generations. Throughout her life she set an example of excellence and perseverance for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman who died in 2000. She is survived her sister, Laurene Daines, Salt Lake City, and her five children: Richard S. (Dona) Davidson MD, Farmington; Charles F. (Kristen) Davidson Ph.D., Layton; Robert A. (Shelly) Davidson, Heber City; Laurie Ann Milovich (Lux), Price; and Paul James (Julie) Davidson, Lake Point. Donna has 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 24, 2007, 1:00 p.m., at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday October 24, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
