Donna Lamar Richens Taylor

Donna Lamar Richens Taylor, 80, returned to her Heavenly home due to natural causes on January 13, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Donna will always be remembered for her love of dancing, the immense love for her family and friends and her complete selflessness.

Donna was Born July 9, 1943 in Arcadia, Utah, an only child to John Ivan Richens & Lila May Montgomery Richens, she was the light of their world.  She married Wm. Gary Taylor on Nov. 11,1961 in Bridgeland Utah, not long after graduating high school. 

She attended Union High School (where she was the cutest cheerleader ever) graduating in 1961.

Donna was raised in Arcadia Utah in a two room cabin just a few 100 feet from where she was born and loved living on the farm, she always said there is nothing like “Out Home.”  After marrying Gary, they moved to Ogden and then Bountiful Utah for a short time before settling in Roy to raise a family. As the kids grew up and moved out, Gary and Donna moved to Clinton before finding their retirement home back in Roy, Utah.

Donna is survived by her husband Wm Gary Taylor, son William Brent Taylor (daughter in-law Judy Taylor) of Hooper, Utah and daughter Sherilyn Taylor-Brown (son in-law Michael Brown) of Clinton, Utah. Her grandchildren Meagan, Cody, Brittnee, Bryson, Preston and Kiah along with nine great-grandchildren.

Donna leaves behind friends that are too numerous to count. Their impact on her life was as deep as hers was on theirs.

A short Graveside service  (as per Donnas request), will be held January 17, 2024 at 1:30 PM MT at the Hooper Cemetery, 5290 S 6300 W Hooper, Utah.

All are welcome to a celebration of life and luncheon following the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shannondoah Ward, 5375 S 5900 W, Hooper Utah.
