Donna Marie Nielsen Pearce. Age 88, of Layton, Utah passed away on March 17, 2022 in Hyrum, Utah.  She was born March 23, 1933 in Hyrum, Utah to Carl Bernard Nielsen and Hilda Archibald Leishman Nielsen.  She attended Lincoln Elementary School in Hyrum and graduated from South Cache High School.  She was a member of the Amico Fidelis Honor Society.

On May 3, 1951 she married her high school sweetheart Dewey Roberts Pearce in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  They lived in Layton, Utah since 1955.  They had four sons.

She worked at Winegar’s grocery store and R.C. Willey Home Furnishings.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, collecting Precious Moments, scrapbooking, camping, baking and candy making.  She also enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren play sports.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Clark Nielsen and Del Nielsen, brother-n-law, Don Loosle, sister-in-law Alice Nielsen, granddaughter Shaylyne Marie Pearce and grandson Adam Richard Pearce.

She is survived by her sons, D. Michael (Wendy) of Nibley, Utah, Rodney of Mendon, Utah, Jeffrey (Richelle) of Kaysville, Utah, and Steven of Williston, North Dakota; her sister Betty Jean Loosle of North Logan, Utah, brothers Devon (Judy) Nielsen of Layton, Utah, Danny (Mary Jean) Nielsen of Hyde Park, sister-in-law Nancy Nielsen of Hyrum, Utah; many nieces and nephews; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Donna’s family wishes to express gratitude for the great care Donna received from the staff and CNA’s at Blacksmith Forth Assisted Living in Hyrum, Utah.  In additions, a big thank-you to Misti Rich who served as Donna’s Hospice Nurse.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
