Donna Jean Shafer, 91, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Ogden, UT. She was born on February 18, 1931 to Austin Esplin and Dorotha Fielding in Shelley, ID.

She married the love of her life, William Shafer on September 17, 1947 in Ogden, UT, and spent 72 happy years together. They were blessed with six children.

Donna was a very talented embroiderer and made many lovely pillow cases and tablecloths. She loved camping with family and riding her four wheeler in the Uintah mountains.

She is survived by her husband, William Shafer; children, William D Shafer, Douglas Shafer, Diana Sewell, Connie Bachman, and Julie Branz; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Esplin and Allen Esplin; sisters, Barbara Rose and Kathy Tedder. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Olsen; and grandson, Brian Shafer.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 2 pm at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 pm at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
