Donna Kaye Shively 

September 8, 1940 ~ October 22, 2016 

Donna Kaye Shively, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Davis County, Utah from acute pancreatitis.

She was born in Goodland, Kansas on September 8, 1940 to Pauline and Ethan Stephens. She graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1958 and received her B.A. in Art in 1962 and later her Masters in Education from Fort Hays State College, where she was a cheerleader and active member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

Donna married Ret. Lt. Col. (USAF) Jon W. Shively on October 6, 1962. They had two children together, Jon Eric Shively and Elizabeth Blake Shively. They were divorced in 2006. As a military wife, she enjoyed traveling the country, living in San Antonio, TX, Duluth, MN and Montgomery, AL before arriving in Utah.

She taught elementary school while living in San Antonio, TX. Later she enjoyed working for the Ogden Symphony Ballet Association under the direction of Jean Pell and bringing art education to local elementary schools as the director of the ART to Go program at the Eccles Community Art Center.

Donna had a wonderful sense of humor (bad puns being her favorite), loved music (especially Dave Brubeck), genealogy, jewelry making and considered her library card one of her most valuable possessions.

She was a kind and generous person. We were truly blessed to have had her in our lives.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Ethan Stephens and mother, Pauline Stephens. She is survived by her children, Jon Eric Shively (Earlene), Harrisville; Elizabeth Blake Shively, Roy; grandson, Harrison Shively, Harrisville; sister, Carole Murray (John) , nieces, Michelle and Suzanne Murray, and great-niece, Autumn Murray, Garland, TX.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
