Donna Lee Swartz

Donna Lee Swartz, age 81, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Honeyville, Utah.

Donna was born in Pocatello, Idaho on May 24, 1941, to Dale Lessey and Adelaide Matthews Lessey. Donna met her high school sweetheart Gary Walter Swartz.  They were married on August 29, 1956 in Dillon, Montana. Gary and Donna were later sealed to each other in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved to Utah and lived in Salt Lake City, Syracuse, and Honeyville.

Donna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she served in many different callings: Ward Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society Counselor, Full-time Missionary, Primary President, Compassionate Service Leader, Ministering Sister, and a Young Women leader.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, reading, serving others, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and having her family all around. She loved camping in the Uintah mountains. She loved the holidays and celebrating with her family, and spending time with life-long friends.

Donna is survived by her husband, Gary Swartz; children, Pam (John) Hall, Randy (JoAnn) Swartz, Wendy (Dave) Kunz, Michelle (Greg) Weston, and Eric (Melanie) Swartz; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Adelaide Lessey; 4 sisters; and 2 sons, Phil Swartz and Shawn Swartz.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the LDS Syracuse 4^th Ward Chapel, 1625 South 1100 West, Syracuse, Utah. 

Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse, Utah, and on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the church. 

Interment will take place following the service at the Syracuse City Cemetery, 1250 South 1000 West.
