Our dear sweet angelic wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on May 24, 2022 at home, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 90. She was born February 21, 1932 in Altonah, Utah, the third child of Irvin Lars Pearson and Edna Mayhew Pearson. She was born during the Depression, so her family traveled to many locations to find work so this beautiful young family could stay together and be raised by wonderful parents. The family settled in Farmington, Utah, in 1941. She met her future husband, Mark D Morgan, while attending Davis High School. After graduation, they were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 2, 1950.
The next years were a whirlwind of raising and teaching their children in their beautiful home that
they built on Rosewood Lane in Layton, Utah. Our mother loved being a homemaker, working in their yard amongst her beautiful flowers, sewing, teaching piano lessons to many, and baking her famous pies that she loved to share with others. Her life was one of service to those around her. She served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life. She was a member of the Fiddlers Creek Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and loved all of her sweet friends there. She will always be remembered for the humble, quiet things that she did for so many people. She was the first to notice someone new and quickly become their friend.
Over the years she embroidered many beautiful pictures and pillows that she shared with family and others. Each of the grandchildren and great grandchildren treasure quilts that she made just for them. She loved our Father and worked along side him for many years in the turkey and farming business and later in their apartment business. They served in the Ogden Temple for many years as well as 4 missions together. They served in Nigeria West Africa, Micronesia Guam, the Toronto Temple, and the Madrid Spain Temple. She shared her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at home and around the world. We could always count on her love, faith, and kindness. She was a great example to us while enduring the difficult health challenges she was given in her later life. She endured faithfully to the end. It was a wonderful gift to have her as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. We will all miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Matthew (infant), a daughter Julia Haugen, and a
sister FayJean Hamblin. She is survived by her husband Mark and their children Janine Edwards(Donald), Todd Morgan (MaryLynne), Marsha Richins (Ron), Carrie Butler (Dan), son- in- law Larry Haugen (Susan) and Jane Dunford (Robert). Also, 26 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren (with one more on the way), and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother Alan Pearson and sisters Marilyn Nutter, Wilma Elliot, and LaRae Bailey.
