Dora May Taylor Profaizer
Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, Dora May Taylor Profaizer passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at age 92. Born on July 11th, 1920 to Horace H. Taylor and Annie Elizabeth Stokes, Dora began her life in Ogden, Utah.
She fell in love with Joe Profaizer when she was 17 and they were married almost directly after her 18th birthday on July 20, 1938. She cherished telling anyone who would listen about her days working at the Ben Lomond Hotel, where she met her "sweetheart" and how they had shared an unbreakable tie of love for 66 years before Joe passed away in 2004.
Dora worked as a clerk in the family grocery store and as a demonstrator at the Hill Air Force Base Commissary. She was a member of the Utah Grocers Association, Ogden Elks, and Ogden Eagles. She was a member of a special women''s club organized to buy a bus for St. Joseph''s Catholic School that lasted for 66 years. Dora was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She continued to dedicate her life to Joe''s memory and her family. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and gardening. Dora also enjoyed sewing for her family.
She is survived by her children, Barbara A. (Claude) Nix of Ogden, Patricia E. (Jim) Pendray of Park City, and Joseph T. Profaizer of Mesa, Arizona; her seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her sisters Betty Kimose of Farr West and Fay Price of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, four brothers, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
