Dora Francis Richins

OGDEN a€" Dora Francis Richins, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2012. She was born in Henefer on September 20, 1919, to John Hyrum and Susie Francis. She graduated from North Summit High School in 1937. She was raised in Henefer and moved to Ogden after marrying where she remained throughout her life.

She married Wayne Joseph Richins on September 17, 1938, in Salt Lake City. They were married 56 years until his death in 1994.

Dora worked at the Ogden Arsenal, Cream O'' Weber and the Internal Revenue Service, where she retired after 16 years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lorin Farr 1st Ward. She was baptized in the Weber River in the days prior to baptismal fonts being built into meeting houses.

Her interests included reading, golfing, bowling, square dancing, and crocheting. In more recent years she enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching movies and enjoying time with her family. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and the American Legion Post 9 Color Guard.

Dora is survived by her son, Jerry (DeeAnn) Richins, Syracuse; daughters, Colleen Hancock and Janet (Joseph) Larson both of Ogden; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Dorthy Thornton, Ogden.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Percy, Rex and Carl Francis; sisters, Pauline Martin and Thella Scalzo; 3 grandsons, Brett and Ty Richins and Chad Larson and her son-in-law, Dale Hancock.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
