Doreen Joyce Metzger

Our loving mother Doreen Joyce Metzger passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on February 2, 2017. Mom was born August 14, 1938 in Brawley, California to Cecil and Clyde Brown. She met the love of her life, Duane Marlow Metzger and in June 1959, they were joined in marriage in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Brawley, California. They moved in October of 1960 to Bountiful, Utah, and were very blessed with her four children. Mom was a wonderful mother and always put her children first.

Our mom was baptized in 1938 and confirmed May 13, 1951 in the Trinity Lutheran Church. Mom was a devout Christian her whole life. She raised her children in the Lutheran faith at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bountiful, Utah where she served the Lord, and gave her love to all of her many friends throughout her life, including those she made during her many years of service to the United Way of Greater Salt Lake.

We will all dearly miss our mother, and because of her profound belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior, we know that she will enjoy eternal life with Him in everlasting life.

Mom is survived by her four children; Darvin Metzger, Darren (Linda) Metzger, Darrel (Angela) Metzger, Dayna (Curt) Harrison, and 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 1840 S. 75 E. Bountiful, Utah.  Services entrusted to Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary.
