Doris S. Clark

April 24, 1921 ~ October 7, 2015

WARREN – Doris Clark, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away at Pine View Transitional Rehabilitation on October 7, 2015. Most of her family had the opportunity to express their love for her and experience her love for them on the day of her passing.

Mom was born on April 24, 1921 to John P. and Gertrude W. Stevens. She was raised on her family’s farm in Henefer, Utah and in 1939 she graduated from North Summit High School in Coalville. Mom married George W. Clark on October 7, 1940. After her marriage to dad, mom lived on the Clark family farm in Warren. Their vows were solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on August 19, 1999. For many years mom and dad enjoyed attending the senior citizens’ center in Plain City.

Mom was an active member of the Warren LDS Ward, where she served in many positions including primary teacher, relief society and visiting teacher. She was, for many years, a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Mom devoted her life to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. In addition to her family, her interests included sewing, cooking, houseplants, gardening, walking and caring for her cats and dogs. When she was younger, mom won many ribbons at the Weber County Fair for her homemade bread, crocheting, and house plants. Her focus in life was always on family and caring for others. She told everyone she loved them.

Mom and Dad celebrated 61 years together until his passing on February 11, 2002. On October 7, she was reunited with Dad, her eternal companion, on their “seventy-fifth wedding anniversary.”

Doris is survived by her three sons, Kenneth (Carol), South Ogden, John (Wendy), Bountiful, and Phillip, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Thelma (Henefer).

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; her brothers, Lawrence, Syd, and Ed; and her sister, Vera.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Warren Ward Chapel, 856 North 5900 West, with Bishop Monty Hardy officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be held at the Warren Cemetery.
