Doris Randall Cox

March 21, 1923 ~ May 6, 2022

Doris Randall Cox passed away on May 6, 2022. She was born March 21,1923 to David Gilbert and Una Chatelain Randall in North Ogden, Utah. She came from a musical family. She was an accomplished violinist and pianist.

She married Donald Cox in the Logan Temple on June 13, 1951. They had a great marriage and together raised five children: Denise, David, Doralee, Darwin and Demar.

Her faith and her religion were important to her. She served in the Western States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had several callings, but her favorite was Meetinghouse Librarian for over 30 years.

Her home was a favorite gathering place for holidays and Sunday visits. For years extended family gathered at her home for Easter Egg Hunts, Christmas Eve parties and 4th of July breakfasts.

She was known for her delicious homemade chocolates. Doris loved reading, sports, genealogy, and quilting; making sure each grandchild received a quilt from her. In her later years she volunteered at the senior center in North Ogden and served as a polling judge for 20 years.

Doris is survived by her children, Denise Hancock, David and Carolyn Cox, Darwin and Michele Cox, Demar Cox; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Randall; 9 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; her daughter, Doralee and her siblings, Beth, Nina, Melvin, Lula, Janet, Gerald and LaRue.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden First Ward Chapel, 626 East 2600 North. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
