Doris H. Drechsel

Doris H. Drechsel OGDEN – Doris Mildred Hughes Drechsel, 86, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at her home in Ogden. She was born June 24, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Burt Alonzo and Irene Theodora Nielsen Hughes. On January 11, 1944, Doris married Lionel Gustav Drechsel in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Corpus Christi, Texas; Monticello, Utah; and in Ogden for the majority of their married life. Lionel preceded her in death on November 6, 2005. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings. Surviving are one son and three daughters, Gary L. (Karol) Drechsel, Draper, UT; Diane Wangsgard (Victor) Cypher, Twin Falls, ID; Lynda G. (William) Skeehan, Mt. View, CA; Sharon A. Pearson, Ogden; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Bonnie Jean Hughes (Claude) Hubbard. Preceding Doris in death were her parents, husband Lionel, and daughter Susan E. Grey. A viewing will be held at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 19 at 1 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
