Doris Jean Miller Dupuis
July 10, 1939 ~ April 23, 2019
Doris Jean Miller Dupuis, age 79, returned to her Father in Heaven on April 23, 2019 and reunited with her loving husband, and many family members. Doris suffered from Parkinson’s disease for 12 years which finally took her life. She is now free of all pain and can see and walk again. Doris passed away at home where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law.
Doris was born on July 10, 1939 in Glenns Ferry, Idaho to David Dyett and Dorothy Buck Miller. She was born prematurely and arrived in a coal bucket. She was number 11 of 15 children.
Doris married Joseph E. Dupuis on November 17, 1956. Together they lived a military family life, living in Idaho, California, New York, North Carolina and Utah. Together they had three children, one daughter, Corinne Renee Hardy, and two sons, Joseph Henry Dupuis and John Fitzgerald Dupuis.
Doris enjoyed bowling with her husband in their younger adult years. In their later years they loved going camping in their R.V. and traveling. She loved spending time with family, shopping, taking weekend trips to Wendover. Doris attended the blind school as a hobby and learned to crochet, read brail and even built a coffee table.
Doris had a stubborn streak (which she would readily admit to), but she was very generous, would always think of others needs, and is loved by many.
Doris became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 5, 2010, and was then sealed to her sweetheart for time and all eternity a year later.
Doris is survived by her daughter Corinne Hardy (Jerry) of Syracuse, Utah, son Joseph Dupuis of Ogden, Utah and son John Dupuis of Salt Lake City, Utah, eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, her sisters; Catherine McCown of Oklahoma, Violet Bailey (Fred) of Florida, Georgia Miller of Texas and brother Joseph Miller of Idaho.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, parents David and Dorothy, sisters, Dorothy May Stevenson, Mary Lou Plew, Grace Miller, Martha Belcher, and brothers David, Wallace, John, Robert, William and Morris.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the services. Graveside services will be held at Syracuse City Cemetery, 1250 S. 1000 W., Syracuse, Utah.
