Doris Lorene Swails Coster Ferrin

1929-2014

Doris passed away peacefully September 26, 2014 at The Legacy House in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born in Harrisburg, PA, May 10, 1929 to Alfred James and Elsie Laura Quier Swails.  Married Russell Guy Coster October 22, 1952 in Tucson, AZ.  Russ baptized her into the LDS Church the following day.  They were sealed to each other in the Idaho Falls, ID Temple May 26, 1954 and jointly served an LDS Mission in Los Angeles, CA from Oct. 1992 thru April 1994.  The significance of family to her was enhanced though genealogy.  Russ passed away Nov. 5, 1994 after which she traveled the world visiting 81 different LDS Temples and spent many hours in the Bountiful Temple where she was well known as the “Hug Lady”.  She later married Lloyd Thomas Ferrin on March 12, 2005.

She is survived by husband Lloyd; children Barbara (Craig) Miller, Deborah Owens, Teresa (Lynn) Potter, Sandra (Len) Cox, Douglas (Julie) Coster; 26 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Preceded in death by her parents, her eternal husband Russ, her sister Jeanne Scholl, stillborn son Richard, and grandchild Daniel Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 3, 2014 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., where friendsay visit family on Thurs. Oct. 2 ^nd from 6-8 pm and Fri. from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services.  Interment Centerville City Cemetery.
