Doris Martha Prawitt Ford

Doris Martha Prawitt Ford, 81, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019. She was born on March 27, 1937 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Frank and Martha E. Posnien Prawitt. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School.
Doris married James Lawrence Ford, Jr. on April 20, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. James passed away on January 5, 2005.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully as a Primary worker, Stake Relief Society Secretary, Young Womens and cub master. Doris was also a volunteer voting clerk and Antelope Island volunteer. She was part of the American Breast Cancer awareness support group and socialized with her Club childhood friends up to the end.
Doris enjoyed making planters, baking, embroidery, quilting, and playing games with friends.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Jody (Marshall) Drake of West Point; sons, Lawrence W. Ford and James Albert Ford both of Ogden; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, George Prawitt; and sisters, Linda P. (Duane) Boothe and Alice P. Green. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Ford; parents, Frank and Martha Prawitt.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
