Doris Metcalf

CLEARFIELD - Doris Annetta McKinnon Metcalf arrived in this world on Christmas Eve 1932 in Jefferson City, Missouri. She died from natural causes on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Daughter of Francis Freeman McKinnon and Irma Nelson McKinnon.

She married John Russell Metcalf on May 21, 1952 and embraced the role of becoming an Air Force wife. She lived throughout the U.S., France, and Taiwan.

She took great pride in her home, garden and excelled at being a hostess. She truly had a joyful heart, adventurous spirit, and a mischievous side. She was a marvelous, caring and devoted mother. Her three children always knew they could count on her wise counsel.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Laurie Metcalf and Susan Metcalf; son, John Mckinnon (Mac) Metcalf and grandsons John Christian Metcalf, Jacques McKinnon Metcalf, and Jake Tyler Metcalf.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held for family and friends in early spring.
