Doris Webster Monsen, 89, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011.
She was born November 24, 1921 in Ogden, Utah to Lemual Webster and Mary Annie Larsson. She graduated from Weber High School with the Class of 1940.
On December 20, 1941, Doris married Berry Gibbs Monsen, Jr. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on September 10, 1945.She was married for a short time to John R. Hall, of North Ogden.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a matron in the Ogden Utah Temple. Music played a big part in her life as the chorister in her Ward for many, many wonderful years and as a member of her Sweet Adeline''s Quartet. Next to music she loved to work in her garden. Doris worked for Coleman Knitting Mills and Utah Tailoring for many years. She was a very strong, hard-working woman and loved every minute of it.
Because she gave so much love, she received so much love from her many nieces and nephews and their children.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Brent) Greenwood, Ogden; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Berry, a daughter, Linda, a son, Ron, two brothers, Joseph "Peg" Larsson, Charles Webster, a sister, Ellen Whetton, a grandson, Scott, great-granddaughter, Kellie and a great-great-granddaughter, Beth.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, South Morgan Cemetery.
