Doris Arave Moss
Doris Arave Moss, our angel mother, grandmother, sister and friend peacefully passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012.
She was born March 17, 1923, in Hooper, Utah, to Albert Keith and Emma Emmaline Cottle Arave. She was the first of seven children.
She graduated from Weber High School Class of 41 and married her eternal companion, Phil S. Moss, on May 22, 1942.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After Phil''s death in 1982 she served a mission in the Orlando Florida Temple, after which she served an additional ten years in the Ogden Utah Temple.
Doris was loved by all who knew her. Her life reflects one of total commitment to others and she was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends whether it was camping, barbecues or ballgames.
She is survived by her five children, Sherry (Marlo) Wilcox, Janet (Monte) Smith, Alan (Lisa) Moss, Dennis (Susie) Moss, Michael (Tammy) Moss, her brother, Kenneth (Dorothy) Arave, Leone (Wally) Haefner, Marjorie (Richard) Lewis, and Marlene (Bobby) Baird, her sister-in-law Carolyn Arave, 34 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Joe Arave, her sister Helen and brother-in-law Darrell Carbine.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
