Doris M. Shreeve
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Doris McMurdie Shreeve, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, Saturday, August 18, 2007.
She was born October 22, 1917 in Deweyville, Utah to Samuel Mitton and Agnes Harten McMurdie.
Doris married Thelbert Evans. He preceded her in death. She married LaMar Allen Shreeve on September 16, 1950 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.
Doris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Parkdale Ward and served in the Ward Library. She also served with LaMar as a temple worker in the Las Vegas Temple.
She owned and taught dancing in an Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Ogden, Utah. She loved to dance, go camping and ride horses. She also loved to watch her children play sports.
Doris is survived by her loving husband, LaMar; three sons and one daughter: Rodney (Jan) Evans, St. George, UT; Richard Evans, Mt. Shasta, CA.; Scott (Anna) Shreeve, Seattle, WA.; Susan (William) Holdsworth, Las Vegas, NV; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are brothers, Keith (Beverly) McMurdie and Dennis (Betty) McMurdie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bernice Gibbons and Mildred Wright; and brothers, Clifford and Royal McMurdie.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Chapel, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
