Doris Tomlinson

August 30, 1938 — March 4, 2018

Doris Jean Tomlinson left to dwell with our Lord and Savior on March 4, 2018.  Her dedicated service and tenacity in the face of adversity will be her living legacy along with four children, Deb Giles, Cindy Gregory and her husband Mikel, Barbara Tomlinson Todd and Michael Tomlinson and his wife Melinda, 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren (with 3 on the way!).

Jean entered this life on August 30, 1938 in Petaluma California where she was raised with her two brothers, before eventually spending many years in Hampton, Virginia where she primarily raised her children.

Her life will always be entwined with her love and service to the Lord and her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was always willing to help others, and this was reflected in her many callings in the Church.  She served extensively in her ward and meetinghouse library which prepared her for her eventual passion in life…genealogy.  Jean loved to research her Scottish and Irish heritage and help others with their efforts to know their forbearers.  Her favorite call to service was to work with the special needs children in primary where she shared her love with all the children in her care.

Her final years were spent in Farmington Utah to be closer to many of her grandchildren.  She will always be remembered for her personal sacrifice for others throughout her life however she will be missed, as we look forward to when we can all be with her again.
