Dorothea Huss Whittaker "Dottie"

Dorothea Huss Whittaker, 81, passed away August 26, 2010 in her home in Bountiful, Utah.

Dottie was born June 19, 1929 to George and Pearl Smith Baxter Huss at Dee Hospital, Ogden Utah. She attended Madison Elementary School 1st through 7th grade, Central Jr. High 8th through 10th grade, Ogden High 11th through 12th graduated May, 1947. She attended Business College 1947-1948.

Dottie married Glen H. Whittaker July 8, 1948 in Ogden, Utah. They moved to Bountiful, Utah February 1956 and had two sons Scott and Lee.

She was involved in Senior Friends (H2U) organization for many years. She served at the Golden Years Center as a volunteer. She worked at Lakeview Hospital as a lab receptionist for 26 years.

Family and friends knew her to be a ladies lady, and the best hostess around. She loved her family dearly. As long as she could eat a good meal, get her hair done, go shopping, sit in the sun, enjoy flowers, and play in the water she was happy and embraced life. She loved giving to family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed lunch with the ladies and loved animals, especially her cats. She will be missed and remembered forever. We love you Mom and Grandma. Thank you for creating life long memories, until we meet again.

Survived by sons John Scott Whittaker, and Steven Lee Whittaker (Kelly Jo); granddaughter Chariti Anne Smith (Craig); great-granddaughters Marah, Melanie, Emma, Samantha, Noel. We would like to thank Applegate Hospice for taking such good care and loving our Mom and Grandma.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit Monday from 6-8 pm and 9:30- 10:30 am prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
