OGDEN a€" Dorothy Dean Hobbs Andersen, 84, died Monday, January 7, 2008 in Ogden of natural causes.

She was born January 23, 1923 in Franklin, Idaho, the daughter of Leonard Parkinson and Eleanor Struve Hobbs. She was the first of six children.

Dorothy married Arvie Jonas Andersen on November 21, 1940 in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on December 15, 1947. Arvie preceded her in death May 22, 1990.

During World War II she worked at Defense Depot Ogden. She and Daddy lived in Ogden from 1941-1963 and Sparks, Nevada 1963-1989, returning to Ogden in 1989 where she resided until her death.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served on the Primary Stake Board, Ward Primary Presidency, Relief Society Presidency, Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Cub Scouts, Visiting Teacher and in the Genealogy program.

She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Dorothy was a very selfless and giving person. She dedicated her life to her family as well as to the service of others. She enjoyed camping, traveling, parades, fireworks, cooking (made the best bread and rolls ever!), embroidery, music, animals, and most of all, her family!

Surviving are her children, A. Richard (Shari) Andersen, Roy; D. Nadine (Curtis) Goodwin, West Haven; Clyde H. (Leslie) Andersen, Sumas, WA; Gary H. Andersen, Ogden; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters who reside in Idaho.

Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, her loving husband and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Brent J. Lang officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
