OGDEN a€" Dorothy May Butcher Anderson died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 29, 2008.

Dorothy was born in Ogden, Utah on January 18, 1924, the youngest child of Samuel Wesley and Gertrude Almeda Campbell Butcher. When she was young the family moved to Farr West, returning to Ogden as a teenager. She graduated from Weber High School in 1942.

Dorothy worked as the Ogden Arsenal, Hill Air Force Base, and after 30 years of service, retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1990.

Dorothy married Milton Clair Anderson in 1946 and they had two children. They were later divorced.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving are her son, David K. (Marta) Anderson and her daughter, Sharon C. (Bob) Jory, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and her sister, NaDene Carver as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and great-granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Anderson.

Private family graveside services will be held at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
