Dorothy Dean Covington Frey Asay

Dorothy passed away on June 27, 2012 in Bountiful Utah at the age of 87 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 19, 1925 in Rexburg, Idaho to William Henry Covington and Rosabelle Stoker, the youngest of eight children. Shortly after her birth, her mother passed away and she was raised by a wonderful stepmother Mae Sirttier.

In 1945 she joined the Marine Corps where she met her first husband, Jerrold Frey. They settled in Milwaukee and they had three children, Gary, W. Rae, and Wade. (Later divorced). She married Douglas Asay on May 2, 1980 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Doug had seven children from a previous marriage, Carolyn, Linda (Kent) Nielsen, A. Doug (Julie) Asay, Debbie (Scott) Palmquist, Jon (Jodi) Asay, Brenda (Brad) Miller and Joe Asay.

Doug and Dorothy settled in Bountiful Utah. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Douglas; her son, Gary; 4 brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter W. Rae (Glenn) Meier; her son Wade Frey (Glenna); nine grandsons, one granddaughter and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 E. Mueller Park Road. Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. and Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
