Dorothy K. Bolander
OGDEN a" Our Mom, Dorothy Kathryn Sparrow Bolander, 95, completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital of causes incident to age.
Mom''s journey began on May 20, 1913 in Logan, Utah, a daughter of Parley Chantrill and Katie Jorgenson Henstrom Sparrow. The family moved to Ogden where Mom attended the Ogden City Schools.
She met our Dad, Karl C. Bolander, and married him on September 29, 1934. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 15, 1957. They had two daughters whom she loved very much. Dad preceded her in death on April 4, 1974.
Dorothy worked in sales at S.H. Kress & Co and Z.C.M.I. for many years retiring from both companies.
She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to all she met.
Surviving are her daughters, Ruth (Irvin G.) Robinson, Ogden; Beth (Robert) Greer, Clearfield; nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sister Lee Lesley of Riverdale; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Karl, her sisters and brother, one great-great-granddaughter and her dear friend, Joseph Wiatrowski, who died in June of 2007.
We would like to thank all the caregivers at Pineview Rehab Center and McKay-Dee Hospital for their loving care of our mother.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
