Dorothy Natrona Hall Brewerton, born on June 8, 1934, to Frank and Natrona Hall in Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away on August 5, 2023. Dorothy lived a remarkable life, filled with love, compassion, and dedication to those around her. As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, she touched the lives of countless individuals and left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Always ensuring that everyone felt loved and valued.
Growing up in Vancouver B.C., Dorothy’s caring nature and warm heart made her a beacon of light in the lives of her family, friends, and neighbors.
A devoted wife, Dorothy shared many cherished years with her beloved spouse Teddy E. Brewerton. Together, they created a loving and nurturing home where their children and grandchildren found comfort and support, always an open door for those who needed it.
As a mother and grandmother, her unwavering support and selflessness were a constant source of strength and encouragement for her family. She cherished family gatherings and celebrations.
Dorothy will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm embrace, and unconditional love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those whose lives she touched. Dorothy is preceded in death by her adoring husband of 68 years Teddy E. Brewerton , and her daughter Michelle.
She is survived by her children; David (Sharon), Andrea (Todd), Leanne, Lycia (Parry), Michael (Lori) ,14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Helen and Judy, and brothers Michael and Tom.
One of the defining aspects of Dorothy's life was her boundless joy and positivity, which radiated to all who knew her. In 1978, Dorothy embarked on a life-changing adventure with the LDS Church, which became one of her most treasured life experiences. Her deep-rooted faith and unwavering commitment to serving the Lord led her to travel across the globe, with her husband, touching the lives of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Dorothy's heart swelled with love for the people she met during her missionary journeys. From the lush landscapes of Costa Rica to the vibrant streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina, she embraced each new destination with open arms, compassion and a warm smile. Dorothy's time in Mexico City, Guatemala, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, allowed her to immerse herself in the richness of these cultures, fostering friendships, which will be forever imprinted on their hearts.
Beyond her missionary work, Dorothy was an avid family historian. She dedicated years of her life to meticulously document every detail of her ancestral lineage. Her passion for family history was unparalleled, and she felt a deep responsibility to preserve the stories and legacies of her ancestors for future generations.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the love she shared. Let us honor her memory by carrying forward the same spirit of joy, positivity, and love she so generously bestowed upon us all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
