Dorothy Jeane Channel

July 6, 1931 ~ March 7, 2017

Dorothy Jeane Channel, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Legacy House of Ogden.   She was born on July 6, 1931 in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Percy and Florence Fraser Ostrom.  She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, Iowa.

On February 6, 1950 she married Raymond H. Channel at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana.

She was a career USAF employee working at each base where her husband was stationed and retiring from Hill AFB, Utah, in 1987 with 31 years of service.  Following retirement she volunteered at the Hill Aerospace Museum where she served on the Board of Directors.  She also volunteered at Your Community Connection and the Childrens Justice Center.

She was a Protestant and a member of Chapter M, P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, one son, Stephen (Jeanna) Channel, Linton, Indiana; and granddaughters, Heather Channel Allen and Constance Channel Rose.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, her brother, and a beloved daughter-in-law.

Private family services will be held.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
