Dorothy May Cox, 93, of South Ogden, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 surrounded by her family.  She was born on May 4, 1923, in Ogden, to Ben O. and Pearl Hurst.  She graduated from Ogden High School class of 1941. 

Dorothy married Keith C. Cox on November 25, 1942 in Salt Lake City.  Their vows were solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 15, 1964.  Keith passed away on April 30, 2008.  She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous callings including Ogden and Bountiful Temple worker.

She worked for American Can Co., J.C. Penney, and retired from ZCMI in Ogden.  After her retirement, she and Keith enjoyed being snowbirds, traveling south to warmer climates during the cold winters.  They enjoyed traveling and made lifelong friends with the Good Sam Club.  She remained active with the ladies of the railroad auxiliary club, Challenger Club, and her condo association. Besides traveling she enjoyed doing ceramics and spending time with her family.  Her world revolved around her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Darrell (DeeAnne) Cox, Layton; Bruce (Sheryl) Cox and Brent (Vicki) Cox, both of Ogden; daughter-in-law, Carol Dooley; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Ron; one brother, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Stake Center Chapel, 5640 South 850 East, Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the LDS Ward Missionary Fund.
