Dorothy Weathers Levindofske
November 18, 1917 ~ April 21, 2014
Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Dorothy Louise Levindofske passed away peacefully in the morning on Monday, April 21, 2014. She was born on November 18, 1917 to Arthur and Lola Sisemore Weathers. Dorothy grew up in Clinton on a farm “where there was always something to be done”. She graduated from Davis High in 1935.
She graduated from beauty school and worked in Salt Lake where she met her first husband, Dallas Kezar. They married in 1943 and he passed away in 1948.
She met Harry James Levindofske in occupied Japan after WWII. They married on December 1, 1949. They raised their family in Roy. Harry passed away on February 22, 1991.
“Dot” and “Slim” loved to dance and party. They were active in the Ogden Elks Club for many years and had many friends. They attended First Christian Church of Ogden.
Dorothy worked at HAFB and Klenke Floral. But first and foremost, she was “mom”. She was always involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Dorothy never hesitated to “tell it like it is”. She was funny, feisty, and smart. Even in her later years she had a great sense of humor. She was easy to care for and fun to be with.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Leslie (Steve) Weir and Larry James (Bobbie) Levindofske; seven grandchildren, twelve and one half great-grandchildren, brothers, Bill (Jean) Weathers, Luke Weathers; and sister, Jean Rowe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ada Stettler and Joan Oliver; and brothers, Ronald and Darrell Weathers.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
