“Together Again”
OGDEN – Dorothy Verla Hansen Muir, 94, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Manor Care.
She was born on November 2, 1918 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of John Peters and Mary Christine Nielsen Hansen. She graduated from Weber High School in 1937. She had lived in Sacramento and San Bernadino, CA, Hobbs, NM, and eventually settled in Ogden.
Dorothy married Grant Calder Muir on March 18, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Grant passed away on October 30, 2008.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Primary Teacher, Visiting Teacher and in Relief Society. Grant and Dorothy served in the St. George Temple as ordinance workers for 11 years.
Dorothy worked at Shupe Williams Candy Co., Woolworth’s, American Can Co., and First Security Bank from 1946 until her retirement.
She loved gardening, belonged to a sewing club with neighborhood friends, and loved camping with her husband.
Dorothy is survived by her son, James Grant Muir, St. George and daughter, Janet (Farley) Cornia, Corinne; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and seven siblings.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
