1930-2016

Dorothy Doretta “Dee” Odekirk, mother, wife and grandmother, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born July 1, 1930 in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Lewis Leavitt and Mary Zerelda Jones Wyatt.  Married Robert Ray Odekirk, July 3, 1948 in Provo, Utah.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She filled her life and church callings with honor, dedication, faith, prayer, obedience, charity and Christ like love. She served diligently in the DUP, and loved the association with her friends.

Dorothy taught by example, integrity, hard work and dignified endurance. She personified motherhood and homemaking.  She was devoted to her Savior, her husband, children and grandchildren.  She was a friend to everyone who knew her.  Her passing is a celebration for all that she stood for and a reminder forever of what really matters.

She is survived by her son David Kent (Sally),  grandchildren Jonathon (Tawnya), Brittany Huberty (Wes), Shannon Biesinger, Jeffrey (Nikki), Katie Duncan (Kevin), Holly Ruesch, step-grandchildren, Ben Marble (Emily), Brian Marble (Tania) and Lara Cruz, also many great-grandchildren, friends and loved ones.  Preceded in death by her husband Robert Ray, son Robert Lynn and daughter Cheri Jean.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Davis Creek 1st Ward Chapel, 825 S. 50 E. Farmington, Utah.  Friends may visit family Wed. July 13th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Thurs. from 9:30-10:30am at the church prior to services.  Interment Farmington City Cemetery.
