Dorothy Phillips

KAYSVILLE – Dorothy Heaton Phillips returned home to her Heavenly Father Saturday, January 18, 2014 after suffering a stroke.  She was born May 21, 1931, to George Earl and Jennie Palmer Heaton in Alton, Utah.  She was an active life-long member of the LDS Church, as well as the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.  She married her sweetheart Elmo “Bud” Phillips on March 24, 1950. They were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple on September 1, 1953.

She was able to make friends easily and made people feel welcomed and loved.  She was blessed with many talents: cooking, canning, crocheting, flower arranging, writing poems and family histories, and knew the value of hard work, and many lives were blessed by the sharing of these things.

The service and love she freely gave is immeasurable.  She is beloved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Potter.  Survived by husband Elmo “Bud”, sons, Terry (Valerie), Larry (Holly), Kendell (Terrie), son-in-law, Gary (Marci) Potter.

The posterity of Dorothy and Bud Phillips include: 24 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren with seven more expected soon and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 12 th Ward, 1039 E. Crestwood Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
