OGDEN a€" Dorothy Conlee Scowcroft, 92, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at home.

She was born May 20, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of Harold E. and Ina Huntwork Conlee. She lived in Hingham and Belmont, Massachusetts before moving to Southern California in 1926. She lived in Beverly Hills and graduated from Beverly Hills High School. She attended UCLA and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

Dorothy married Albert Scowcroft, Jr., on February 18, 1938 in Beverly Hills, California. They moved to Ogden on January 20, 1939.

Following Al''s death on June 8, 1962, Dorothy assumed the general management of 7-Up Bottling Company of Ogden, Inc., which she later expanded to include RC Cola. She was a director of Utah Idaho Soft Drink Association and served as president in 1970. She was the first female president of an affiliate of the National Soft Drink Association in any state. She sold the business and retired in 1980.

Dorothy was a member of the Ogden Welfare League, now the Ogden Junior League where she served as vice president. She was also a member of the Ogden Weber Club, and the Ogden Golf and Country Club. Surviving are three daughters, Susan (Dennis) Jones, Virginia; Nancy Thon, Salt Lake City; Mary Burns, North Carolina; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 2374 Grant Avenue.

Inurnment, Ogden City Cemetery at 4 p.m.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Applegate Home Care and Hospice and to those who provided loving care to Dorothy, including Mark, Margie, Christel, Jan, Nancy, Sharmi and Celinda.

Donations in her memory may be given to the Shriner''s Hospital for Children, Intermountain Unit, SLC, or to the Church of the Good Shepherd Foundation.
