Dorothy Jane Lightfoot Smith
Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 13, 2013 in North Ogden. She was born in Agawam, Teton County, Montana on November 19, 1930 to Joseph Forrester and Erda Mae Gunter Lightfoot .
Dorothy loved to serve family and friends with her many talents as she provided thousands of handmade items for the Humanitarian Center, many of which included baby blankets and booties. She enjoyed collecting dolls from around the world and even painted a little. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various callings.
Dorothy married Joseph Devon Smith on April 27, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed nearly 58 years of marriage together.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph D Smith, North Ogden; four sons, Doyle J. (Patty) Smith, Sandy, Darwin D. (Vickie) Smith, Plain City, Devin K. (Jenny) Smith, Harrisville, and David J. (Kim) Smith, Farr West; 13 beautiful grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Elna Yeaman, Pocatello, ID; brother, Robert J. (Marilyn) Lightfoot, Malta, ID.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Gunter and Bernice L. Lindsay, and by grandson Zachary J. Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ben Lomond First Ward Chapel, 575 E. 3100 N., North Ogden. Friends may visit family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the Church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
